South Orange, the home town of Zigo, is also right next door to Maplewood, NJ. In fact, South Orange and Maplewood are together called the “two towns”. So as a native son of sorts, Zigo is a sponsor of this year’s Maplewood Greenday.

Maplewood’s Green Day Mission is to:

“Share with the community specific ways that they can put Maplewood’s Environmental Action plan to work in their households and daily living; Share information about climate change; Educate youth and empower them on ways they can keep the planet clean; Run a fair that exemplifies sound environmental practices including a carbon-neutral, close to zero waste plan and vendors who sell and practice green living”

We can get on board with that.

We participated last year and had a great time doing demos and meeting our neighbors. You can see last year’s pictures here. There are a bunch of new bicycle activities this year. I think we’re a shoe-in for the “S L O W Bike Race”. They say “last person’s feet to touch the ground wins!” Good luck beating the Zigo Leader in that event! This year we’ll be in our new Zigo Tent, not some rental threads, so look for the Zigo logo and come say hello and try a Zigo Leader.
